Post-Operative Home Care
- You must take anti-inflammatory and acetaminophen drug to lessen the wound pain, laxative to prevent from constipation and antibiotic to prevent post-operative infection and should be wholly completed as prescribed by Dr. Vitasna.
- Within one week after the surgery, clean the surgical wound with sanitary wipes after urination and use water after defecation then wipe it gently. You are allowed to take a shower, also you should clean the wound with antiseptic or soap in the morning and before bedtime.
- Bright red blood discharges is expected 1-2 weeks after the procedure. A slim sanitary napkin should be used to monitor the post-operative bleeding. If heavy bleeding or blood clot, swollen reddish wound and high fever noted, please contact the Hospital for suggestions or come to see Dr. Vitasna for the surgical wound examination.
- You should refrain from jogging, soaking in bath tub or swimming in the pool, speed running or walking, heavy lifting, cycling and sexual intercourse for 6 weeks after the surgery.
You may return to work within 5-7 days after the surgery. Moreover you should follow the physician's appointment for follow up examination or treatment.
